In Sharia Reinsurance the service products offered are same as Conventional Reinsurance service products for both General Reinsurance and Life Reinsurance. However, what distinguishes it from Conventional Reinsurance is that there is risk sharing among participants, and there is no transfer of risk from participants to insurance companies, or from insurance companies to reinsurance companies. Nasional Re as a reinsurance company in this case is only operator or manager of insurance funds (tabarru) and does not share in the risk.
